Traveling Essentials and Tips

Having to pack a whole year of supply into two suitcases is not easy, but I of course, have to make room for makeup and beauty supplies. Because I am away for a year, I had to pick up a few supplies for the trip which includes a few of my obsessions: packs and packs of Softlips, stacking on the Benefit Cosmetic They’re Real Mascara, a few L’Oreal Paris Lineur Intense Brush Tip, boxes of the My Beauty Diary Mask, an extra pair of the fringe holders, and a bunch of my favorite Essie nail polishes that includes: Licorice, Wicked, Fuji, along with the Only Gold For Me and Spark-taular OPI Top Coat.

In addition to the many goodies that I packed for my trip, I realize the importance of space in a suitcase. Being that Korea is extremely cold, I have to pack my comforter and my pillow case because I am too used to my contour pillow I cannot live without out. I realized the importance of packing and have a few tips for those who are travelling as well:
  • Pair lighter items with heavy items. I packed my comforter and pillow with my bottles of contact solution and shower gels and other items. It helps to weigh out the difference and maximize my space as the bottles help to compress my comforter.
  • Zip lock under garments. Using a zip lock bag helps to seal your under garments from bed bugs that can travel from other places. Many of you know I am a true germ-a-phobe so I always pack my clothes into zip lock bags to seal out the many bacteria and contamination.
  • Roll your clothing instead of folding it. Rolling up your clothes and putting it into your suitcase helps to maximize space and reduces the amount of wrinkles and compressed lines that can be found from folding.
  • Pack travel size goodies. Always pack hygiene items that you are used to using. When traveling, it may be difficult to find things that you use so it is smart to carry these items in smaller sizes and hope they will last you for the duration of your trip.
  • Turn contact cases into travel size holders. I am a big fan of using contact cases to hold my moisturizer, concealer and other beauty essentials when traveling. Simply label and estimate the amount you would use normally times the number of days you are traveling for. They come in handy and for those who wear contacts, there are always a great number of contact cases laying around the house.
  • Skip the blow drier and other essentials if you are traveling internationally. Because of voltage differences, it is recommended to just purchase these items while on vacation. Some hotels may even offer these items for you so it helps to save space and reduce any potential hazards and burn outs.

Makeup Review - Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies

There’s been a lot of hype with this mascara, especially with the makeup and beauty gurus. For some reason, I don’t find that it helps my lashes in any way. I find that I am not the only one who has a problem with this mascara, but majority votes that this mascara is a must have, providing volume and length like false lashes would, therefore you save time and the extra step of putting on false lashes.

My experience with the mascara was like every other. It did not live up to my expectations of true falsies look. The look I got was one that I would have gotten with any other mascara. This mascara felt a little dry and clumpy on my lashes, which is not the chief complaint. I felt that because it was so dry and lumpy, it just made me so bummed out because it is incomparable to other volume and lengths mascara I have used, even a drugstore brand.

I am one of the few that have a problem with this mascara, and I mean one of the very few. Hopefully it works well with you, costing half, even one third of the price I normally pay for mascara, I wasn’t too bummed out, but I would much prefer my Benefits They're Real! mascara. I love having hand me downs that make me feel important to friends and family, especially when it works wonders for them!

Makeup Review – Benefit Cosmetic They’re Real! Mascara

Two weeks ago, I went on a crazy Sephora Splurge and picked up a dozen of items, one of which is Benefit Cosmetic They’re Real! Mascara. I was extremely excited to try this particular mascara and it definitely didn’t let me down. Although I don’t have a full set of lashes, this mascara helps to fill in the lines instantly. I love the length that it provides me in such a short amount of time. I think this is probably the quickest mascara to give me the volume and length that I want. I've had many comments on the length on a night out as if I wore falsies.

Statistics say 94% saw dramatic length and volume, 90% saw base to tip curl, 94% saw visible lift and 100% saw long-wearing results. The plastic brush is made up of bristles that help to separate and lengthen. I love the bristles along the tip of the brush that allows easy bottom lash mascara. This is definitely a mascara I use for every day wear and something that I pile on layers on top of layers for a night out. It doesn't feel so heavy on the eyes that'll make my eyes droopy. Ladies, it is a must have in your collection.

Beauty Splurge - Sephora

With my Sephora splurge that was widely advertised on my blog, I came home to three boxes of goodies. I don’t know how many Sephora Collection items I picked up, all for $5 and less. I even got backups and backup of backups because it was so cheap. I’m so excited to give these a try and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll be the good friend and family member that gives away free makeup haha!

One of my must raves that I have to share with you which I have been itching to get but refused to buy at first is the Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Mascara. This mascara is to help me maximize my lashes to its potential that boosts length and volume. The one thing I learned is you can never have too many mascaras so it was a must have for me. Stay tuned for a review on this because I sure expect a lot from the commercial I saw!

Another item which I am extremely excited about is the Cover FX foundation. This brand was developed my dermatologists who understand true beauty, even with skin problems. I am excited for this because it is not only a foundation but it also has skin care products mixed in that will help to clean up my skin and conceal my psoriasis very well. I hope this really works because I will share with you all the goodies!

A few other items that I picked up are Make Up Forever Aqua Liner, Anastasia Brow Pen, First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser, Clinique Age Defense BB Cream (this is like a must have for every Asian who's into white skin and fighting wrinkles), and a foot cleaner. Can’t wait to share makeup reviews with you all!
