Located in Chinatown, New York, the Cutting Board restaurant is a new American, infused with Japanese and Italian dishes. With their own twist on every traditional dish that they serve, the Cutting Board is popular among the younger groups and families looking to crowd over some flavorful food. 

With two separate dining areas in the Cutting Board, as well as private rooms, the wait varies from time to time. The more popular eats are their small snacks of fried fitters and a variety of fusion entrees, including their chicken risotto. 

One of the perks in the restaurant is the option of making reservations for parties of 6 and more. Having this luxury is one of the perks that cannot be found elsewhere in Chinatown, which makes this restaurant one of the more popular places to eat, in addition to the flood of young crowds already.

Expect service and popularity of the restaurant to be standard in Chinatown, extremely busy and sometime difficult to call down someone to take your order. On the flip side, at the very minimum, any waiter can assist in taking orders and food is a tastier twist! With large portions and cheaper prices, the Cutting Board restaurant is one to try out.

Todays Lunch - Lotteria

Lotteria is the Asian equivalent of a McDonald’s or Burger King. It is one of the most popular fast food joints all across Asia. Depending on which country you visit, the menu varies. In Korea, the concentration is on the Bulgogli burgers which was a must try for me. Rather than only sticking to the Bulgolgi burger, I picked up a sandwich that stacked two in one.

The Bulgolgi and Shrimp burger is a long roll that has two patties, the bulgolgi beef and a fried shrimp burger. I have to say it is quite a burger with two totally different sauces. The bulgolgi beef of course, is topped with a bulgolgi sauce, whereas the deep fried shrimp patty with actual chunks of shrimp is topped with a mayonnaise like sauce. Both are delicious in their own way and I think it should stay separate, but this burger is definitely worth splitting between two who are just trying to sample the burger. With many other options on the menu, Lotteria is a must go to in every Asian country you visit! 

Todays Lunch - Burger King

It was another one of those days with the Burger King craving so I just had to get it. This time, I got the Chicken bulgolgi burger along with the "Poutine" fries. A little different from regular fries, yes? These special fries are topped with onion rings, a bulgogi-bbq sauce as well as mayo. For someone who is not in love with the sauce, I would much prefer the Burger King fries alone than with the sauce, but it was definitely an experience and worth a try.

Sweet Tooth Satisfaction - Mister Donut

I have been dying to try Mister Donut since I first arrived in Korea. The donuts are absolutely delicious, they fall between a yeast and a cake donut. I picked up the advertised glaze ring donut which was not as sweet as the American donuts. In addition to the good eat, it was a bit expensive costing $1.30 for just one donut. It is really worth it when you just have those cravings though!

Today's Lunch - Korean McDonalds

I decided to fulfill a craving for McDonalds today and skipped out on the Bulgolgi burger after trying it at Burger King and just got the Big Mac meal. I love Korea for how pretty and perfect everything is. The Big Mac is perfectly put together, unlike those back at home that is just slapped together. Best part is, it definitely tasted like the meal back home so it helps to satisfy those cravings that you have! Built to satisfy :]

A few pointers for those who are eating at fast food chains in Korea: separate your garbage. When finished with your meal, there is a slot for ice and leftover liquid from your drinks you did not finish. There is also a place to stack your cups, and a separate garbage for lids and straws. Some places also have a separate disposal for the paper that comes with your tray and finally your garbage. I was definitely confused the first time I was in Burger King, but I'm pro now!

Today's Lunch - Korean Burger King

I love going to other countries and trying out their fast food chains because it is their cultural take on the traditional chain stores. Today's lunch was Burger King's Bulgolgi Burger Meal. One thing about Korean fries is that it's not as salty as the American ones. The coke also has a different taste, not my traditional addictive coke because of the difference in sugar. 

The Bulgogi Burger is quite special though, it is the made of bulgogi meat, topped with onions and a Korean BBQ sauce as well as a white salad dressing that Koreans love. It is a bit of a peculiar mix, but it is pretty delicious. A meal for the price of $4.60, can't find that in much places in America.

The one thing that I do want to share about this meal is the paper spoons that are folded from a flat piece of paper. I love the creativity and ability to recycle products around here. Note to those who are traveling to Korea: know how to separate your garbage, including fast foods stores like Burger King!
